Honda Rebel Project Bike - Update

We hit the Lowbrow Swap Meet to see if we could find some bars and taillights for the Rebel.  We were hoping to get both for $100.  We made the rounds, ran into friends, didn't win the raffle, met the Lowbrow crew and had a great time.  In the end we were able to get the handlebars, two Deuce taillights, two old new stock bubble shields and Lowbrow's old drill press all for $100.  It was a good day.

I would have preferred to go with a vintage tread, but my wife wanted to go as wide as possible with the rear tire, so I checked with the guys at the Honda Rebel forum to see how wide we could go.  They said the biggest tire you can fit on the Rebel if you want to keep the stock rear fender without major modifications is a 150-90/15.  You do have to remove the chain guard.  Once I received the tire I held it up to the stock size tire.  I began to question if it was still going to fit.

Its snug, but it fits.

I'm wiring the Deuce lights as running and turn signal lights, but I still needed a stop light, so I got a smoke led for under the rear fender.  I just needed to make a bracket.  Mocked up with cardboard before cutting metal.

I mounted it up to see how it looks.  Gotta take it back off to paint and wire it.
